Birthday kwento

Last friday, after the earthquake drill in the office at 3pm, I rushed home to prepare the afternoon delight I have promised you as part of the celebration of my 24th birthday. While in search for the necessary ingredients at the market, my poor hands was sort of telling me that it cannot handle more bags. That is when I decided to limit the food that I will serve. Originally, we will have ginisang mungo to be partnered with the inihaw na isda, baked tahong, roasted chicken, mixed veggies and buko pandan for dessert. Majority of the food I planned to have were retained but instead of having tahong, I replaced it with buttered garlic shrimps, omitted the mungo and buko pandan because I know preparing those would sucked up the short time I have. When Mhelai arrived, I asked her to accompany me in buying turbo boiler, you heard it right, I bought a new kitchen tool for the event, but you need not to worry because it was a dream come true for me. When we are about to go inside the house, Michael arrived. So I tasked him to grill the fish and I must tell you that he had a hard time doing that. So, thank you Michael for arriving early, your coming was indeed timely! On our previous lakad that you were late, I have forgiven you. And also, thank you for the organizer that you gave me, according to Mhelai, its the most fitting gift for me because I am so disorganize. The next to arrive were Jaris, Reu and Aldin. They brought a black forest goldilocks cake. I was so touched, mainly because I've known these three for so long, hindi nagreregalo ang mga yan, except sa mga girlfriends nila. So that was their way of telling me how much I mean to them, sweet talaga. Micah and Buboy arrived next to them. When the couple arrived, food are almost ready to serve except for the roasted chicken. Arianne was the last to arrive. Everybody's ready but because we are waiting for one more (Sheina), they took it as an opportunity to take pictures. Everybody wants to be in the picture scene, flashing their best smile and projecting in front of the camera. We had dinner after a few minutes of realizing Sheina is not arriving anymore. I don't know why she did not make it but the attendees' funny tricks we're enough to make the night full of fun. While having dinner, they showed me a presentation, the music background was melodramatic but because I'm having so much fun, I did not cry. The presentation includes greetings from our classmates, including the absentees. It was candid and short but overwhelming. Spontaneous but the efforts were there. I am very happy, a little surprise of your efforts. You all made me special and happy and super happy! After dinner, Jaris volunteered to wash the dishes, thank you Crush for saving Me and Mhelai from those towering plates, it was a relief, really! We bought alcohol drinks to fill the night. We chatted and laugh and talked together, remembered the good old days. Buboy started to participate by cheering those who are being bullied. Next to me was Micah, she is so composed at first but after several glass of redhorse, I can find her laugh contagious. I would laugh when she would laugh. The small room we are occupying was filled with our laughter. We would make fun of each other's flaws when we were young. We would tease Jaris to Arianne and eventually to Michael. It was so childish but everybody's having fun. I guess, past will always be a part of us because we were all there, we have all witnessed each other's experiences such as the experience of falling in love for the first time, it was too immature but we love it. We may have moved on but our days together will always be remembered in a manner as such. Anyway, it was a fantastic night till dawn. Thank you guys for all the fun, for making my birthday so very special. I know I cannot thank you enough but from the bottom of my heart, I wish that our beautiful bond wouldn't last. I hope that our future responsibilities and priorities would not get in the way for us to have something like this again. I hope that when you have you're own family, we would still be friends. Your partners will be our friends and we will be bigger and happier... Looking forward for more!
